The Silverleaf Residence was thoughtfully designed for an out-of-state client seeking a seasonal retreat in Scottsdale during the peak winter months. Drawn to the character and charm of the Silverleaf community, the clients were especially inspired by the area’s rural Mediterranean aesthetic. While they appreciated this traditional style, they envisioned a home that felt more personal, understated, and timeless.
To bring this vision to life, the design incorporates reclaimed materials imported from Europe - such as reclaimed clay roof tiles, wood beams, and limestone - paired with simple architectural forms that allow these materials to take center stage.
The residence is heavily influenced by European architecture, gracefully stepping down a hillside lot through a composition of varied rooflines, retaining walls, and subtle elevation changes. Additional elements that reinforce this aesthetic include trellises, fountains, multiple fireplaces, and beautifully crafted stonework, all contributing to an elegant and enduring design.
